Thermal insulation

Insulation against heat and cold
Closed, heat-insulating models—whether with a smooth surface or a slatted look—ensure thermal comfort at any time of the year and any time of day. Their sandwich construction, consisting of highly insulating polystyrene hard foam between aluminum panels, guarantees the best insulation values.
Function and operating principle
Window panes cool down in winter and heat up in summer, affecting the temperature in the room. Whether in new buildings or renovations, heat-insulating shutters allow you to regulate the room temperature without additional operating costs—and reduce energy consumption.
With insulation in cold weather

The insulated shutter keeps out the cold air. In addition, the heated air between the ISO folding shutter and the window is kept stable. The room temperature can be maintained without additional energy consumption.
Without insulation in cold weather

Cold air hits the window pane with almost no reduction in intensity. The pane cools down significantly, thereby drawing heat out of the room. Due to the very cold surface of the window, the interior becomes uncomfortably cool. In order to maintain the room temperature, increased energy consumption is necessary, e.g., through additional heating.
With insulation for warmth

The insulated shutter keeps heat out. A cooling air cushion forms between the shutter and the window, and the window panes only heat up slightly. The room temperature can be maintained without additional energy consumption.
Without insulation in warm weather

With a window shutter without insulation, the heat hits the window surface almost unabated. This penetrates into the interior and increases the room temperature. In order to keep the room temperature low, increased energy consumption, e.g. through air conditioning, is necessary.

Certified quality
EHRET’s heat-insulating shutters have been tested by the independent institute ift in Rosenheim (Germany) for additional thermal resistance in accordance with European standards. The excellent values are documented in the test reports and serve as energy certification.
