Residential district
Altstadtkieker Rostock
to complement the wooden cladding of the facade
planned by Büro Löser Lott Architekten and cubus architekten

The newly built residential district “Beim Holzlager” in Rostock’s Petri district virtually “looks over” at the old town. With its concrete and larch wood clad facade elements, it deliberately contrasts with the brick buildings of the old town. Twenty-one barrier-free residential units are designed to combine individual living with the idea of intergenerational, neighborly living.
The “Wohnen beim Holzlager” location combines proximity to nature on the banks of the Warnow with an attractive location close to the old town. The result is a remarkable residential building that not only offers livable space for families, single parents, singles, and couples, but also confidently displays its internal floor plan structure to the outside world. The three floors are characterized by natural wood cladding and rest on a concrete base.
