On historic ground at the district border of Berlin-Mitte, directly on the former border crossing of Heinrich-Heine-Straße, an innovative new building was constructed with 15 residential and two commercial units. The facade of the building is adorned with a real eye-catcher: EHRET aluminum sliding shutters with gold-colored fillings made of expanded metal.

Both the street and garden facades of the house feature large, floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the rooms with light. The sliding shutters emphasize the modernity of the building, its clean lines, and minimalist appearance. They also offer impressive functionality, providing optimal sun protection while allowing light to pass through.

The MATRICO shutter model used features expanded metal infill. Thanks to their special design, MATRICO sliding shutters can also be used for larger panels without additional friezes. This supports the building’s unadorned character and at the same time serves to break up the façade. The elegant gold tone harmonizes perfectly with the facade color – and also matches the large-scale mural “Face Time” on the right-hand firewall of the building.
