Residential building
in Kressbronn
of the historic, rural architecture.

People in Germany are once again being drawn to the countryside: reasons for this development include not only the housing shortage and corresponding rents in urban areas, but also a longing for unspoiled nature and rural idyll. This also includes traditional architecture, which has developed over many centuries and has only imperceptibly adapted to modernity. A farmhouse in the Lake Constance region, which has been given a fresh facade and new EHRET folding shutters, is a prime example of this.
The façade of this 19th-century farmhouse in Kressbronn, with its adjoining farm buildings, was extensively renovated in 2024. The strict structure of the building envelope with windows directly above each other is typical of many farmhouses in southern Germany. The window reveals and frames are highlighted in gray, while the shutters shine in a rich, natural green.
