with contemporary privacy and heat protection.

The Saint-Maur retirement home in Toulon is a prime example of the successful combination of historic preservation and modern building technology. The renovation of over 200 shutters placed the highest demands on precision, material selection, and design sensitivity: the goal was to preserve the historic facade aesthetics while integrating durable, low-maintenance solutions.
EHRET aluminum shutters were the perfect solution here: developed in close consultation with Inter Stores, the shutters were manufactured exactly according to the historical model: with slanted slats and in a specific shade of green, they are a faithful reproduction of the original wooden models.

EHRET is one of the few manufacturers that can produce perforated slats with millimeter precision for arched windows. Each shutter was individually measured and adapted to the different center distances of the historic façade. At the same time, the aluminum shutters also offer functional advantages: they provide summer heat protection, natural ventilation, light regulation, and privacy. Adjustable twist locks for ventilation and ergonomic handles increase user-friendliness, especially for older residents.
