The Minergie-P project Sunnehof in Fällanden, Switzerland, demonstrates how energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and modern aesthetics can work together. The six-story apartment building with a timber frame construction was built by Fokus Immobilien AG from Bubikon. EHRET supplied a total of 168 aluminum sliding shutters.

The modern successor to the window shutter, the SL aluminum sliding shutter model, was used. This has climatic advantages: the combination of external sun protection, window orientation, and the thermal storage capacity of the building elements prevents rooms from overheating.

The coating of the shutters with the special color NCS S8000N harmonizes perfectly with the characterful, pre-grayed facade. The upper guide rails with electric drive are invisibly mounted in a shaft provided by the customer. The virtually maintenance-free external sun protection is controlled via the Somfy iO radio system, which can be easily integrated into any building automation system. The wireless radio control also ensures that the thermal insulation values required by the Minergie-P standard are met. If the shading is no longer sufficient, passive cooling can be activated in the Sunnehof via the heat pump’s geothermal probes.
