Sustainable material
Aluminum can be recycled as often as desired in an environmentally friendly manner. Our products are therefore already made from up to 80% recycled secondary aluminum. The long service life and economical recycling at the end of a long window shutter life complete the cycle and make the use of EHRET window shutters particularly sustainable.
Sustainable production
EHRET relies on renewable energies for production: solar panels covering an area of 3600m² on our company roofs generate over 700 kWp, covering approximately 20% of our energy requirements. In general, we strive to optimize the use of resources: for example, the rinse water produced during the pre-treatment of aluminum parts is cleaned by a wastewater treatment system.
Resource-efficient production
EHRET has always treated resources with respect and complies with or even exceeds legal requirements regarding the environment. With the further development of its environmental management system and the associated ISO 14001 certification, the company is underlining its commitment to the environment.
It is committed to providing the necessary resources and structures to manufacture and distribute ecologically optimal products and systems in the most environmentally friendly way possible. However, use and disposal should also have no negative impact on the environment.
Recycled aluminum
EHRET is increasingly focusing on the use of recycled aluminum. Depending on the project, we can certify the use of up to 80% secondary aluminum.
There is no difference in quality between secondary and primary aluminum. Aluminum can be recycled endlessly while maintaining the same level of quality. Recycling aluminum requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce primary metal. Aluminum is not contaminated by recycling.
As a result, 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use. Recycling 1 ton of aluminum saves 6 tons of bauxite and 9 tons of CO2 emissions. Worldwide, aluminum recycling saves more than 100 million tons of CO2 every year.
It goes without saying that all aluminum waste at EHRET is also fed into the recycling cycle.
Pre-treatment and powder coating
Powder coating is one of the most environmentally friendly and modern coating systems currently available. Powder coatings consist of heavy metal-free pigments and are solvent-free. In addition, the process used by EHRET is very resource-efficient, as efficient powder recovery can achieve a utilization rate of up to 98%.
The chromate-free pretreatment not only significantly improves the environmental balance and occupational safety, but also meets the high quality requirements regarding paint adhesion and corrosion resistance of powder-coated materials. The use of this label-free technology means that no heavy metals are produced during the process. At the same time, plant operators also benefit from improved occupational safety.
Wastewater recycling
Rinsing water is produced during the pretreatment of aluminum parts. EHRET relies on economical wastewater treatment to clean this rinsing water.
With the help of modern membrane technology based on the principle of reverse osmosis, 80% of the rinsing water produced can be recovered as pure water. Economically valuable – ecologically sensible.
